May 17, 2022 – Meritus Health, the largest provider of healthcare in western Maryland, recently adopted the EyeArt® artificial intelligence (AI) system for autonomous diabetic retinopathy testing in its primary care clinics. The Hagerstown, MD-based health system implemented the EyeArt system to improve patient care and maximize reimbursement by providing in-clinic eye exams for people with diabetes.
“Ensuring patients receive their annual eye exam is critical in the management of diabetes, and we are happy to partner with Eyenuk to bring AI-based testing for diabetic retinopathy to our clinics,” said Ellie Lloyd, Manager of Wellness Outreach for Meritus Medical Center. “Bringing diabetic eye exams to the primary care setting will not only ensure that patients receive the best care but will also maximize reimbursement from value-based payment programs.”
